Al Gore: A Study in Hypocrisy

Al Gore has told us we must embrace a "carbon-neutral lifestyle." To do otherwise, he says, will result in a cataclysmic catastrophe. "Humanity is sitting on a ticking time bomb," said Gore in his movie An Inconvenient Truth. "We have just 10 years to avert a major catastrophe that could send our entire planet into a tailspin." Gore tells us to use compact fluorescent light bulbs, use a clothesline, drive a hybrid, use renewable energy, and to dramatically cut back on consumption. Think small, says Gore.

But what he does is something else. Until recently Gore and his wife Tipper lived in two mansions: a 10,000-square-foot, 20-room, eight-bathroom home in Nashville, TN and a 4,000-square-foot home in Arlington, Va. He also has a smaller one in Carthage. But hey, why would anyone expect a Hollywood liberal to practice what he preaches. Well, Big Al has really gone overboard now.

According to the L.A. Times, Big Al has added another mansion to his holdings. Click Here For LA Times Article. This one is in Montecito CA. It only cost $8,875,000. It sits on 1.5 acres and has a swimming pool, spa, fountains, six fireplaces, five bedrooms, and nine bathrooms. I am sure that the nine bathrooms will be put to good use since Big Al is full of you know what! Way to go Big Al. Think small. Use those florescent light bulbs for your lighting needs (Question: can you light all those spas, swimming pools, etc. with florescent lights?)

And to think this blow hard almost became President.

I wonder if they give a Nobel Prize for Hypocrisy. If so, Big Al should win it easily.
