The Democrat Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault", think about this:

January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?

(BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie - starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy).

REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!

Bush may have been in the car but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal and steering wheel they were driving.

Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress and the party that controlled Congress

since January 2007 is the Democrat Party.

Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 &2011.

In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budgets.

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009. Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period: (below)

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.

If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.

Democrats Brought About the Financial Crisis

In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for
and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th.

There is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on!

Government does not earn money; Government takes money.
Government creates jobs; jobs in the public sector. Government
hires employees for these jobs with no money to pay them,
because the Government does not create income so they have to
borrow money to pay them. In order to repay the loan they take
money from those who create income and if it isn't enough, they
print more money.

If public services are needed and requested by the private sector,
the money is provided by them with no arm twisting. Public service
unions have over blown compensation where it is now not capable
for the earners to continue to support them.

Printing new money without backing reduces its value. Obama's
worm brains advising him on economics, are creating a double
whammy malady where the price of goods costs more and the
money you have to buy it with is worth less; soon to become
one word, "worthless!"

The above statement I offer is made without benefit of an MBA,
or degree in economics from an ivy league institute. It comes from
the school of common sense.

Cheap shot columnist, Professor Robert Watson, you are at it again. Your topic was "tax rebellion", but you had to inject your partisan political bias into your screed by claiming that Republicans are self-proclaimed "patriots" (is that cynicism, or what?) who don't want to close loopholes for millionaires and billionaires. In addition, as a pinnacle of "objective" historical thought, you had to take a few shots at the Republican candidates by not agreeing with you and your fellow lefty liberal Democrats regarding ObamaCare, immigration, or rebuilding infrastructure. What has that got to do with "tax rebellion"?

You ask what is happening that Republicans are anti-tax and anti-government, as opposed, I presume, to the Democrat mantra of tax increases, during a recession, and borrowing more money, which we can't afford, for their "crony Socialism"?

Professor Watson, why don't you go to the library to brush up on your partisan historical ignorance. It is pervasive throughout all your writings.

The Demise of One Time Icons

It is quite troubling for me to understand why so many editorial
boards of leading newspapers and other journalist media outlets follow the
liberal line. It's a dangerous road to take because through history, I have
learned their influence sways disgruntled masses into mobs giving rise
to totalitarian governments that take advantage of the turmoil to make
changes detrimental to our freedoms. Using the first amendment irresponsibly
will lose it for all of us.

It doesn't take long for the press to lose independence and become a tool
of government. Maybe a few proponents of drastic liberalism might retain
their positions because they tow the line of state run media. Patsies for
tyrants.

We know who the very liberal main stream media and publications patsies
are in this country, because their views are one sided biased commentaries
that won't allow fair and balanced disagreement. I tried many times to have
my letters to the editor accepted for publication, including this one, to no avail.

My right to express freedom of speech is unacceptable, because it is contrary to
what they preach; therefore I am denied access to contrast my views against
theirs so that their readers and listeners can have a broader opinion view to
judge for themselves. An occasional conservative commentary is sometimes thrown
in to obviously quell criticism.

Publishers and producers do not realize the implication this one sided,
liberal left position can take for their very existence. They are
shooting themselves in the foot. As it is, dwindling circulations
and audiences are taking their toll on these left of center vehicles.

In a similar state is the mainstream broadcasters, CNN and MSNBC. Combined,
they do not enjoy the audience Fox News commands. What do some of these names
have in common? Leslie Marshall, Steve Murphy, Mo Elliethee, Doug Schoen, Lanny
Davis, Alan Colmes, Kristen Powers. Bob Beckel, Michael Brown, Penny Lee, Charlie
Rangel, Al Sharpton and Tamara Holder. They are just a small list of Liberal
Democrats that have appeared on Fox to defend their position. Also employed
by Fox are Juan Williams, Geraldo Rivera and Greta Van Susteren. The full
list would be impossible to fit in these pages. No member of congress is
denied access to Fox and many have taken advantage of it.

Some members of congress are fighting to pass a fairness act;
George Soros and a tax exempt organization Media Matters, funded
by him and the broadcasters mentioned above all want to destroy
Fox News for broadcasting what they choose to ignore because it
is contrary to their agendas and exposes the flaws of the
current administration.

As I'm generally critical of your views and your over emphasis on race, I must say you were quite the gentleman when you questioned Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll (R-Fl.). No over the top questions about her being a victim of black discrimination as she is a perfect example of how an intelligent black person (a woman at that - wow!) can achieve a position through hard work and due diligence. She is the role model for all black people, to take it upon themselves to rise to the top (almost, as she's only the Lt. Gov.) and that she is looked upon as an equal by the Governor she serves.

Why don't you interview some other "non-victimized" blacks such as Rep. Allen West, Rep. Tim Scott, Thomas Sowell, Dr. Walter Williams, Herman Cain etc. and get their perspectives on the opportunities afforded black as well a white, yellow, and brown people in our country. Those aforementioned people are the future of America, not the race politics offered up by Jackson, Sharpton, and the "white liberal".

The word racist is becoming trite today by being over used by people who can't argue the merits of an argument, they therefore try to stifle dissent by throwing out the "racist" word signaling "end of argument". Just listen to the hysterical Democrats who throw out that word at any mention of dissent with Obama's policies. Most people can see through this ploy, but they continue on using it. An Obama appointee who played a central role in crafting the 2010 health care bill has cashed out to a well-connected lobbying firm, where her first clients are two of the bill’s beneficiaries: abortion provider Planned Parenthood and a hospital chain.

Liz Engel was deputy assistant secretary for legislation at the Department of Health and Human Services. Today she is a managing director at the Glover Park Group in the health and wellness practice. Her story further highlights the coziness of this administration with the abortion industry, and also undermines President Obama’s portrayal of the health care bill as a broadside against special interests.

Most importantly, Engel’s spin through the revolving door shows the emptiness of the new ethics rules that the White House brags about at every opportunity.

According to her bio on the Glover Park Group website, her job there was “conducting outreach on behalf of the health care policy working group to trade associations, businesses, unions and advocacy organizations.” In other words, she helped persuade industries to support Obama’s plan. In the end, the drug lobby, the doctor lobby, and the hospital lobby all backed the bill — and, of course, so did Planned Parenthood.

Big government greases the revolving door. Had Congress passed a reform reducing the role of government in health care, companies would have less need for the consulting and lobbying work of folks like Engel, Daschle, Myers and the others who shaped the legislation.

By now Jared Lee Loughner, the alleged shooter in the horrific massacre in Tuscon, Arizona yesterday, is a household name. His picture has been plastered all over various news sites, and various facts have been widely reported concerning his behavior.

But who is he? What is his background? What are his interests, habits, allegiances, and lifestyle? What is his mental state?

It goes without saying that Loughner is a disturbed human being, a man who suffers from marked emotional instability. His notes on MySpace and YouTube are rambling and sometimes unintelligible, particularly when he launches into lengthy screeds on ‘English grammar,’ which can only be understood by mental health professionals who could possibly find a way to enter into Loughner’s inner world. Anyone else, however, would find the attempt to understand Loughner’s disjointed and often contradictory language to be a lesson in futility.

Schoolmates of the alleged shooter describe Loughner as a loner, an ultra-liberal with a penchant for hard rock music, flag burning, and pot smoking…

Even more curious are Loughner’s ‘heroes.’ He mentions by name Venezuelan Communist Hugo Chavez, Latin American Communist mass-murderer Che Guevara, American Socialist revolutionary Saul Alinsky, and even Barack Obama.

GAO Report on Planned Parenthood Reveals Startling Discrepancy

WASHINGTON, /Christian Newswire/ -- "American Life League's STOP Planned Parenthood project analyzed a new report from the U.S. Government Accountability Office on federal tax money funneled into Planned Parenthood," announced American Life League President Judie Brown.

According to the GAO report, Planned Parenthood Federation of America audits show the organization spent only $657.1 million between 2002 and 2008 from federal government grants and programs when the abortion behemoth's annual reports show it took in $2 billion from government grants and programs during the same time period.

"That leaves $1.3 billion unaccounted for. That's not pocket change," said STOPP national director Rita Diller. "Why the discrepancy? These numbers don't add up and from an organization with a track record like Planned Parenthood's, the American people deserve an explanation."

The report was requested by 31 U.S. senators and representatives. It is the first of its kind since the 2001 figures released by the GAO in 2003. STOPP notes that Planned Parenthood has other sources of government funding - state and local - and that the GAO report for 2001 shows that PPFA expenditures of federal money accounted for 79 percent of its government income. The new report shows PPFA expenditures of federal money comprising an average of only 32 percent of its government income from 2002 through 2008.

"It is simply not believable such a large amount of its funding is from local and state sources," Diller said

Additionally, in just two weeks, Planned Parenthood will complete its 2009-2010 fiscal year. Yet it still has not released its annual report for its 2008-2009 fiscal year.

"So breaking down the situation," Diller said, "At a time when the majority of Americans consider themselves pro-life, Planned Parenthood rakes in over two billion of our tax dollars, inconsistently reports how they spent our tax money and then admits to killing 1,803,302 preborn babies between 2002 and 2008 alone."

"A growing number of Americans are fed up. It's time to defund Planned Parenthood."

Why would newspapers carry on a vendetta on one of the most important institutions that we have today in the United States, namely the Catholic Church?

Do you know--the Catholic Church educates 2.6 million students everyday at the cost to that Church of 10 billion dollars, and a savings on the other hand to the American taxpayer of 18 billion dollars. The graduates go on to graduate studies at the rate of 92%.

The Church has 230 colleges and universities in the U.S. with an enrollment of 700,000 students.

The Catholic Church has a non-profit hospital system of 637 hospitals, which account for hospital treatment of 1 out of every 5 people--not just Catholics--in the United States today.

But the press is vindictive and trying to totally denigrate in every way the Catholic Church in this country. They have blamed the disease of pedophilia on the Catholic Church, which is as irresponsible as blaming adultery on the institution of marriage.

Let me give you some figures that Catholics should know and remember. For example, 12% of the 300 Protestant clergy surveyed admitted to sexual intercourse with a parishioner; 38% acknowledged other inappropriate sexual contact in a study by the United Methodist Church, 41.8% of clergy women reported unwanted sexual behavior; 17% of laywomen have been sexually harassed.

Meanwhile, 1.7% of the Catholic clergy has been found guilty of pedophilia. 10% of the Protestant ministers have been found guilty of pedophilia. This is not a Catholic Problem.

A study of American priests showed that most are happy in the priesthood and find it even better than they had expected, and that most, if given the choice, would choose to be priests again i face of all this obnoxious PR the church has been receiving.

The Catholic Church is bleeding from self-inflicted wounds. The agony that Catholics have felt and suffered is not necessarily the fault of the Church. You have been hurt by a small number of wayward priests that have probably been weeded out by now.

Walk with your shoulders high and you head higher. Be a proud member of the most important non-governmental agency in the United States. Then remember what Jeremiah said: 'Stand by the roads, and look and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is and walk in it, and find rest for your souls'. Be proud to speak up for your faith with pride and reverence and learn what your Church does for all other religions.

Be proud if you're a Catholic.
