Obama Gives Discriminated Hispanic, Women Farmers $1.3 Billion
A year after giving black farmers $1.25 billion to settle discrimination allegations against the government, the Obama Administration is promoting another huge minority cash giveaway for Hispanic and women farmers.

It’s part of the president’s continued efforts to write a new chapter for civil rights and resolve all allegations of past discrimination in the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), according to an agency announcement issued this week. Women and Hispanics who feel the government discriminated against them when seeking USDA farm loans are encouraged to apply for cash to make up for Uncle Sam’s wrongdoing.

In all, the agency is allocating $1.33 billion in “compensation” for women and Hispanics in addition to $160 million in “farm debt relief.” Hispanic or women farmers who provide additional proof and meet other requirements can receive a $50,000 reward, according to the USDA announcement. The goal is to ensure that any Hispanic or woman farmer or rancher who alleges discrimination is aware of the money pot, says the USDA official in charge of the program.

To get the word out the feds have launched an impressive bilingual advertising and public relations campaign that includes national outreach tours by top USDA officials as well as Justice Department bigwigs because that agency is sort of overseeing it. The cash giveaway tour was in South Florida this week assuring that there is no filing fee or other costs to claimants who apply for money.
Those who can’t attend the USDA/DOJ outreach rallies can always register online or contact toll free a special Farmer and Rancher Call Center that will mail out a packet. The USDA has also created videos, in English and Spanish, to promote the program and it published a special flyer advertising the administration's latest civil rights reparation project.

Obama Administration's missile defense proposal 'simply not credible'

In 2009, the Obama Administration scrapped President Bush's plans for missile defense in Europe in an unprecedented act of capitulation to Russia, thus alienating two allies (Poland and the Czech Republic) with whom Washington had signed missile defense hosting agreements just a year earlier.

At the time, the Administration, including then Defense Secretary Robert Gates, claimed that intelligence data indicated that Iran was now developing short-range instead of long-range ballistic missiles and that therefore the systems envisioned by Bush (a radar in the Czech Republic and 10 Ground Based Interceptors in Poland, also known as "third site elements") were not needed. Instead, Gates and Obama offered the deployment of Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD)-capable ships and, in the 2018-2020 timeframe, ground-based SM-3 Block IIB interceptors (which have yet to be developed and constructed) intended to intercept long-range ballistic missiles.

At the time, it was already known that such a plan would be 2 times more costly than the Bush plan and would not offer coverage early enough; Iran already possessed, as of 2009, BM25 Musudan-ri IRBMs capable of reaching all European capitals (including London, Dublin, and Lisbon), and the Obama Administration knew this, as cables published by WikiLeaks reveal. CIA veteran Reza Kahlili confirms this. US intel also says that Iran will have ICBMs capable of reaching the United States by 2015.

Last month, testifying before Congress, Secretary Gates lied further, claiming that execution of the Bush Administration's plan was "never going to happen" because, supposedly, Poland and the Czech Republic refused to sign hosting agreements. But this is a blatant lie. In August 2008, Condoleezza Rice, then Secretary of State, signed the relevant agreements with Poland and the Czech Republic. And no sooner was the ink dry that the Vice Chief of the Russian General Staff, threatened these countries with "100% certain" nuclear attack if the third site elements are built.

But, as a recent Defense Science Board (DSB) report reveals, it is the Obama Admin's plan that is unrealistic and unexecutable. The report is classified and only unclassified portions of it have been released and submitted to Congress. Sen. Richard Shelby has obtained a copy.

The DSB dismisses Obama's plan as "simply not credible", saying that the planned SM-3IIB missiles - which currently don't exist and have yet to be constructed and tested - will not be able to intercept enemy missiles in the boost (earliest) phase of flight, as they are being designed to do. Thus, the Obama Administration has bet European missile defense on a nonexistent missile that will never be able to do its job.

By contrast, Bush wanted to deploy existing, tested, proven Ground Based Interceptor (GBI) mid-course interceptors in Poland, the same kind of missiles that are already stationed in Alaska and California. They intercept missiles in the mid phase of flight.

In any case, Central Europe is so far away from the Middle East that any missiles launched from there could intercept ballistic missiles only in the mid phase - exactly as GBIs are designed to do.

Meanwhile, the Czech Republic is so annoyed by how it's been treated by the Obama Administration that it has refused to cooperate in its new BMD scheme. Even if a Republican Administration takes office after 2012, it will be difficult to regain the Czechs' trust.

And Russia? It's still not satisfied. It wants to see no missile defense systems in Europe, and President Medvedev has threatened a new Cold War and a new arms race (typical Russian bluff, but nonetheless telling) if any such systems are deployed. Obama's arms control chief Ellen Tauscher, a longtime opponent of a strong defense in general and missile defense in particular, is drawing up secret agreements with Russia to drastically limit such systems. And Russia's ambassador has dismissed the potential Iranian threat as nonexistent, at the same time his country is helping to grow that threat.

In short, Obama's missile defense plan is bad news. He has scrapped plans to deploy proven, tested interceptors, revoked signed agreements as if they were worthless pieces of paper, alienated 2 allies, and pushed forward a plan based on nonexisten systems that, as the DSB tells Congress, won't work, thus making the Obama plan "simply not credible."

Therefore, Congress should:

1) 1). Hold hearings on this issue and call on high-ranking Administration officials, as well as independent witnesses, such as former Missile Defense Agency Director LTG Henry Obering (ret.) and think-tank analysts, to testify.

2) 2). Refuse to provide funding for the PAA, or "Phased Adaptive Approach," which the DSB says is "simply not credible".

3) 3). Obligate the Administration, by law, to provide coverage to the US and Europe against all classes of ballistic missiles (not just SRBMs as Gates wanted) using proven, existing systems, as well as the promising systems scrapped in 2009 by Gates.

If If the Administration vetoes such legislation, let it put itself on record as overtly opposing plans to protect America. Then, the American people can vote accordingly.

In response to Sidney Shapiro's Saturday Forum column in the Sun-Sentinel (May 28), I think he should stop drinking the Obama Kool-Aid.

He proclaims that Obama's speech on the Middle East was "brilliant rhetoric", but he didn't ask the American people or the Israeli's if they concurred with that assessment. All polls said it was looked upon as a disaster.

The old expression, "he cleaned his clock", should be attributed to Benjamin Netanyahu as he gave our inexperienced, clueless president a history lesson on the Middle East. As an American, I was embarrassed for our country and was made more sympathetic to the plight of our Israeli friends. Sidney should get rid of his rose-colored glasses and face reality. Idol worship is now passe.

Journalist insists black leaders – not tea partiers – are real 'racists'

Internet journalist Andrew Breitbart unleashed a tirade on talk radio yesterday, blasting the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People for its condemnation of tea partiers as "racist," instead charging the NAACP itself with racism and telling its president where he can "go."


"Let me say something a tad newsworthy to the president of the NAACP: You can go to hell," Breitbart said. "I have tapes, a tape, of racism, and it's an NAACP dinner. You want to play with fire? I have evidence of racism, and it's coming from the
NAACP."

Breitbart made the explosive comments on the air with Scott Hennen, who hosts a morning talk show on WZFG 1100 AM in Fargo, N.D.

His comments came in response to a resolution adopted by the 101st annual convention of the NAACP earlier this week, condemning the "racism" of the tea-party movement and claiming it could return the nation to the pre-civil-rights era.

According to a report from KMBC television in Kansas City, NAACP President Benjamin Jealous told his organization's members tea parties must "expel the bigots and racists in your ranks or take the responsibility for them and their actions."

"We will no longer allow you to hide like cowards and hide behind signs that say 'lynch our president' or anyone else," Jealous said.

Specific charges within the NAACP resolution, reports the Kansas City Star, include allegations that tea-party supporters have engaged in "explicitly racist behavior," have "displayed signs and posters intended to degrade people of color generally and President Barack Obama specifically" and have used racial epithets in verbally abusing members of Congress.

Breitbart, however, contends that the tea-party movement is about the president's policies, not his race, and that many of the charges of racist behavior at tea-party rallies are exaggerated. Breitbart has also offered a $100,000 reward for any tangible proof of the epithets that were reportedly launched at black U.S. representatives during a tea-party rally protesting Congress' health-care reform efforts – a bounty no one has yet been able to claim.

"You are manufacturing this in a summer in which the economy is the No. 1 issue affecting blacks and whites in this country," Breitbart said of the NAACP. "This country can ill-afford the schism of race to be exploited the way you are, based upon the false premise of the tea party being racist. … This is absolutely manufactured for political gain."

When Hennen brought up a Washington Times story linking the NAACP to the New Black Panther Party, whose Minister King Samir Shabazz not only escaped federal prosecution for voter intimidation amid much controversy but also called for the killing of "some crackers" and "some of their babies" to gain black freedom from white oppression, Breitbart continued his criticism of the NAACP convention.

"Where is the resolution to condemn the racism coming from the [Black Panthers] and killing cracker babies?" Breitbart asked. "Why is the mainstream media ignoring that story while playing up the nonexistent story of the n-word being hurled at congressmen?"

Breitbart joins many voices objecting to the NAACP's denouncement of racism within the tea-party movement.

"For the NAACP to accuse the tea parties of racism is insulting to the great patriots who have participated in this movement and sadly shows just how out of touch that group is with the American people," Tea Party Express spokesman Levi Russell told Politico. "Some of the most compelling leaders of this movement are of many different races – men and women such as William and Selena Owens, Lloyd Marcus, Kevin Jackson and others.

"The racism accusation by the likes of the NAACP has been proved false time and again. Earlier this year, Democrats smeared tea-party activists by claiming members of the Black Caucus were spit on and called the n-word as they paraded through a crowd of tea partiers," he told the publication. "Their blatant lie was proved false by overwhelming evidence from multiple video cameras that recorded the event."

In a blog posted the day before interviewing Breitbart, Hennen expressed similar sentiments.

"In spite of a coordinated bias by the mainstream media, patriotic Americans continue to assemble throughout the nation in protest of big-government policies threatening to undermine our basic liberties," Hennen writes.

"Maybe you're one of the thousands of participants who showed up at one of the tea parties this summer. Take a look in the mirror; what do you see? A racist? Or do you see an average, hard-working American, concerned about the future of this republic?" he asked. "I've met enough of you at these events to virtually guarantee that it's the latter."

Failed Policies of Socialism

Doug, of course, we all would like to see all of our students get a good education, especially the black students and other minorities, but what seems to be the impediment in achieving that goal?

I, as an observer of the passing scene, say that you seem to be correct about the black males who seem to be the one's who do not seem to be getting the education they should be getting. I see, in many of the businesses I frequent around south Florida, that the black females are achieving what the black males should be achieving, namely, getting and keeping a good job. I see many professional looking black females in all kinds of jobs, but very few black males, and being in a "red state" (as you snidely implied) has nothing to do with it. Most of the urban school districts, around the country, with lousy schools are overwhelmingly run by "blue state" mayors and city governments.

Why do black females outperform black males academically? That's the question you should address Doug, not whether the city or state is "red" or "blue". My educated guess would be that the major factor happens to be the absence of a traditional family ( a mother and father together at home) in the black community. A 70% out-of-wedlock birthrate is not a positive statistic. The glorification of sports in place of academics also contributes to the lack of educational excellence among black males. Many black males seem to carry a chip on their shoulder and they denigrate other black males who want to succeed and get a good education by saying that those conscientious students are "acting white". A real insidious put down. In addition, the type of music, that puts down women and authority figures, are not positive factors that are conducive to getting a good education. Also, the grooming habits of the black males (wearing their pants halfway down their butts and dragging on the floor) do not create a climate for learning or for getting a good education. Sloppiness in dress generally fosters an environment for mediocrity Another aspect of the demise of the black youth (mostly males) has been the habit of the black people to vote almost exclusively for Democrats these past 70 years, and still they have not been lifted up socially, educationally, and economically, as a result of that monolithic voting pattern. Capitalism and free enterprise are the means of lifting up the black youth, not the failed policies of Socialism, which the Democrats and the Congressional Black Caucus espouse.

The "tough love", as espoused by Bill Cosby, is mostly shunned by the likes of the "Rhyming Reverends", Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, who put forth the the "philosophy of victimization", mainly to keep many of their followers on the "plantation". The opportunities are available for everyone, including blacks and minorities, but it's up to the individual to take advantage of those opportunities, like Lt.Col.Allen West, now Congressman Allen West (R), has done in his life. That's the role model young blacks should try to emulate, not the Jackson's and the Sharpton's of their community.

The Boston bank that is at the center of controversy involving Congresswoman Maxine Waters, who intervened with regulators to protect and reward the bank (her husband had a financial interest in the bank), apparently lied about helping poor people, reports the Boston Globe:


Five years ago this month, Mayor Thomas M. Menino stood with community leaders in Roxbury to hail plans for a new OneUnited branch in the neighborhood. The bank's president pledged to make loans worth hundreds of millions of dollars across Boston, with a special emphasis on low-income borrowers.


OneUnited said it would partner with the city to offer the mortgages to first-time and current homeowners, and provide financial literacy training to residents. "As a child of an inner-city community I can tell you, it doesn't get any better than this,'' the bank's president, Teri Williams, told the crowd that day.


But no loan program ever emerged -- one in a long list of failures by the nation's largest minority-owned bank, which is controlled by Williams and her husband, Kevin Cohee, the bank's chairman.


In recent years, regulators have admonished the bank for poor performance and lavish executive pay, and Cohee himself has had personal run-ins with the law in California. And the bank, despite its diminished role as a community lender, sought and received help from US Representative Maxine Waters, a California Democrat, to secure $12 million in federal funds after the bank lost money on risky investments. Waters now faces House ethics charges in the matter because her husband had a stake in the bank.


The spin that the bank would help the poor acquire housing and jobs was just that: spin. A few dollars trickled out to help some poor people -- but not in Boston, Miami, or Los Angeles, where it opened offices. But large sums did go to a wealthy developers in Massachusetts. Meanwhile, executives rewarded themselves with fancy cars and high salaries. The president had run-ins with the law; a sexual assault allegation (dropped) and a drug charge that was dropped after he agreed to counseling. The plight of the poor was a ruse to ransack.


Quiet a crew that Maxine Waters bent -- actually broke -- the rules to help reward with our money. She should be ashamed, instead of defiant. And Congressman Barney Frank logrolled for her -- did favors to help her while attempting to keep her role hidden. He should be ashamed of himself, as well (let alone for his role in creating the housing crisis by his drive to promote home ownership among those who could not afford it).

Wall Street Journal Sizes Up Obama - They've Got Him Figured Out!

"I have this theory about Barack Obama. I think he's led a kind of make-believe
life in which money was provided and doors were opened because at some point early
on somebody or some group took a look at this tall, good looking, half-white, half-black, young man with an exotic African/Muslim name and concluded he could be guided toward a life in politics where his facile speaking skills could even put him in the White House.

In a very real way, he has been a young man in a very big hurry. Who else do you know has written two memoirs before the age of 45? "Dreams of My Father" was published in 1995when he was only 34 years old. The "Audacity of Hope" followed in 2006. If, indeed, he did write them himself. There are some who think that his mentor and friend, Bill Ayers, a man who calls himself a "communist with a small 'c'" was the real author.

His political skills consisted of rarely voting on anything that might be deemed
controversial. He went from a legislator in the Illinois legislature to the
Senator from that state because he had the good fortune of having Mayor Daley's
formidable political machine at his disposal.

He was in the U.S. Senate so briefly that his bid for the presidency was either an act of astonishing self-confidence or part of some greater game plan that had been determined before he first stepped foot in the Capital. How, many must wonder,
was he selected to be a 2004 keynote speaker at the Democrat convention that nominated
John Kerry when virtually no one had ever even heard of him before?

He outmaneuvered Hillary Clinton in primaries. He took Iowa by storm. A charming young man, an anomaly in the state with a very small black population, he oozed "cool" in a place where agriculture was the antithesis of cool. He dazzled the locals. And he had an army of volunteers drawn to a charisma that hid any real substance.

And then he had the great good fortune of having the Republicans select one of the most inept candidates for the presidency since Bob Dole. And then John McCain did something crazy. He picked Sarah Palin, an unknown female governor from the very distant state of Alaska . It was a ticket that was reminiscent of 1984's Walter Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro and they went down to defeat.

The mainstream political media fell in love with him. It was a schoolgirl crush with febrile commentators like Chris Mathews swooning then and now over the man. The venom directed against McCain and, in particular, Palin, was extraordinary.


Now, nearly a full year into his first term, all of those gilded years leading up to the White House have left him unprepared to be President. Left to his own instincts, he has a talent for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. It swiftly became a joke that he could not deliver even the briefest of statements without the ever-present Tele-Prompters.

Far worse, however, is his capacity to want to "wish away" some terrible realities,
not the least of which is the Islamist intention to destroy America and enslave the West. Any student of history knows how swiftly Islam initially spread. It knocked on the doors of Europe, having gained a foothold in Spain .

The great crowds that greeted him at home or on his campaign "world tour" were no substitute for having even the slightest grasp of history and the reality of a world filled with really bad people with really bad intentions.

Oddly and perhaps even inevitably, his political experience, a cakewalk, has
positioned him to destroy the Democrat Party's hold on power in Congress because
in the end it was never about the Party. It was always about his communist ideology,
learned at an early age from family, mentors, college professors, and extreme leftist
friends and colleagues.

Obama is a man who could deliver a snap judgment about a Boston police officer who arrested an "obstreperous" Harvard professor-friend, but would warn Americans against "jumping to conclusions" about a mass murderer at Fort Hood who shouted "Allahu Akbar." The absurdity of that was lost on no one. He has since compounded this by calling the Christmas bomber "an isolated extremist" only to have to admit a day or two later that he was part of an al Qaeda plot.

He is a man who could strive to close down our detention facility at Guantanamo even though those released were known to have returned to the battlefield against America . He could even instruct his Attorney General to afford the perpetrator of 9/11 a civil trial when no one else would ever even consider such an obscenity.
And he is a man who could wait three days before having anything to say about the
perpetrator of yet another terrorist attack on Americans and then have to elaborate
on his remarks the following day because his first statement was so lame.

The pattern repeats itself. He either blames any problem on the Bush administration
or he naively seeks to wish away the truth.

Knock, knock. Anyone home? Anyone there? Barack Obama exists only as the sock puppet of his handlers, of the people who have maneuvered and manufactured this pathetic individual's life.

When anyone else would quickly and easily produce a birth certificate, this man has spent over a million dollars to deny access to his. Most other documents, the paper trail we all leave in our wake, have been sequestered from review. He has lived a make-believe life whose true facts remain hidden.

Obama calls African-Americans a ‘mongrel people’

President Obama waded into the national race debate in an unlikely setting and with an unusual choice of words: telling daytime talk show hosts that African-Americans are “sort of a mongrel people.”
The president appeared on ABC’s morning talk show “The View” Thursday, where he talked about the forced resignation of Agriculture Department official Shirley Sherrod, his experience with race and his roots.
When asked about his background, which includes a black father and white mother, Obama said of African-Americans: "We are sort of a mongrel people."
"I mean we're all kinds of mixed up," Obama said. "That's actually true of white people as well, but we just know more about it."
The president did not appear to be making an inflammatory remark with his statement. The definition of mongrel as an adjective is defined as "of mixed breed, nature, or origin," according to dictionary.com.
The race debate was reignited after Sherrod’s firing. Obama also addressed the issue in his speech to the National Urban League 100th Anniversary Convention in Washington on Thursday morning.
But in his interview on “The View,” which was taped Wednesday but aired Thursday, the president said the Sherrod story was prompted when the media "generated a phony controversy."
"A lot of people overreacted, including people in my administration," he said.

Left-wing Black Activist Acknowledges Race Attacks on Tea Party Are Bogus But 'Effective,' Media Ignore

What will it take for the media to acknowledge that the Tea Party is not a racist movement, and that liberals have smeared it as such in a naked politicization of race relations? How about a lefty activist admitting just that.

UPenn professor Mary Frances Berry, a leader of the "far-left black political scene," as NB Executive Editor Matt Sheffield wrote, penned this astonishing email to Politico, published on July 20:

Tainting the tea party movement with the charge of racism is proving to be an effective strategy for Democrats. There is no evidence that tea party adherents are any more racist than other Republicans, and indeed many other Americans. But getting them to spend their time purging their ranks and having candidates distance themselves should help Democrats win in November. Having one’s opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness.

Dick Armey could not have said it better.

The strategy is, of course, reprehensible, but members of the Tea Party movement have long suspected that accusations of racism were nothing more than elements of a political ploy motivated by a fear that the movement's influence could spell disaster for Democrats in November and beyond.

Rather than discuss the issues, these smear artists allege racism since it immediately puts political opponents on the defensive, preventing them from pushing lines of argument to which most Americans are sympathetic.

That Berry specifically mentioned joblessness as an issue that can be dodged by crying racism demonstrates just how desperate liberals are to avoid discussing the still-sagging economy. It's a losing issue for Democrats, and their supporters know it. By dubbing the critics of Democratic economic policy racists, they can avoid discussion of the failures of their own policies.

Coverage of this outrageous statement from the mainstream media: practically zero. Hannity has mentioned it a couple times, and Politico, of course, has acknowledged it.

But almost every other major news outlet - ABC, NBC, MSNBC, HLN, the New York Times, the Washington Post, the LA Times, USA Today, NPR, PBS, Newsweek, Time - has completely ignored the statement, according to a Nexis search. The Wall Street Journal's John Fund mentioned it on CBS's Face the Nation and on CNN Newsroom, but neither outlet covered the topic on its own, or followed up on Fund's statements. Mary Matalin mentioned it on the Situation Room, but once again, it took a conservative guest for the statement to even be acknowledged, and no one followed up.

And of course, the same media outlets ignoring this story have frequently trumpeted accusations of racism directed at the Tea Party as fact. The most notorious example - the alleged racial slurs shouted at Members of Congress before the health care vote - has even recently been treated as fact, despite the complete absence of evidence supporting the accusation.

Maybe Berry's statement will help convince these journalists that they are aiding and abetting not only political character assassination against an organic, Jeffersonian movement, but that they are in fact aiding the degradation of American race relations, as R. Dozier Gray, spokesman for the black conservative group Project 21 notes:


This willful and purposeful use of the race card for nothing more than political gain is toxic to race relations, and Mary Frances Berry must know that. But she evidently does not care. Based on her comment, political posturing takes primacy over whatever real issues regarding race that she might pretend are her calling cards. I have seen this all before. I find it shameful.

Race Played Role in Obama Car Dealer Closures

The Obama administration, already under fire for unprecedented allegations of racial bias, faces a new bias claim from a most unlikely source: one of the administration's own inspectors general.

Decisions on which car dealerships to close as part of the auto industry bailout -- closures the Obama administration forced on General Motors and Chrysler -- were based in part on race and gender, according to a report by Troubled Asset Relief Program Special Inspector General Neal M. Barofsky.

[D]ealerships were retained because they were recently appointed, were key wholesale parts dealers, or were minority- or woman-owned dealerships. [Emphasis added.]

Thus, to meet numbers forced on them by the Obama administration, General Motors and Chrysler were forced to shutter other, potentially more viable, dealerships. The livelihood of potentially tens of thousands of families was thus eliminated simply because their dealerships were not minority- or woman-owned.
As has been widely reported, the Inspector General's study skewered the Obama Gang for strong-arming the companies into closing 2,000 dealerships, costing an estimated 100,000 people their jobs during a recession.

But the news media has ignored key elements of Barofsky's report -- elements that are far more damaging, if possible, to Obama. As we reported earlier in the week, a top Obama official, manufacturing czar and "Auto Team" leader Ron Bloom admitted that the dealerships could have been kept open, saving those jobs, "but that doing so would have been inconsistent with the President's mandate for 'shared sacrifice.'"

Barofsky says the administration insisted on the closings even though a GM official told him

that GM would usually save 'not one damn cent' by closing any particular dealership. ... Furthermore, a GM official stated that removing a dealership from the network does not save money for GM -- it might even cost GM money -- and that savings cannot be attributed or assigned to any one dealership.

And a reading of the IG's study makes plain that some dealership closings forced by the administration were based largely on politics.

The report is highly critical of how dealerships were selected for closure, or termination. Barofsky notes that

experts said that while metro areas were oversaturated with GM and Chrysler dealerships and reductions were needed in these areas, this was not the case in rural areas where GM and Chrysler had an advantage over their import competitors. [...]

Although sales volume in small towns may be lower, the cost of operating dealerships in small towns is lower as well. In addition, closing dealerships in small towns could ruin the "historic relationship" that GM has had with residents in small towns and force buyers to drive to metro areas, where there are more competitors. In the worst case, the loss of market share in small and medium-sized markets could "jeopardize the return to profitability" for GM and Chrysler, the (the Center for Automotive Research) representative said. Representatives from the National Automobile Dealers Association also concurred that dealership terminations would cause GM and Chrysler to lose market share in rural areas. [Emphasis added.]

Nevertheless, as Barofsky notes, "ultimately close to half of all of the GM dealerships identified for termination were in rural areas."

That is where raw, hard, sewage-filled Chicago politics came into play.

Records indicate that in 2008, Obama lost the vote totals in the nation's 1,300 rural counties by nearly 80%.

The Obama administration's insistence on radical numbers of closures ended up shuttering dealerships in those rural areas disproportionately, while dealerships and jobs in metro areas -- Obama's geographical base -- were left open.

Additionally, it has been widely theorized that dealers targeted for closure as a result of Obama's interference were predominantly those who donated campaign contributions to Republicans. Although evidence to date is largely anecdotal, given what we've already reported about the Obama administration's handling of the auto bailout, such speculation does have considerable grounds for support.

While that last point is leaves room for debate, the details contained in the Barofsky report are not. As Barofsky points out, the Obama administration was given an advance copy, and "Treasury [the Obama Treasury Department] might not agree with how the audit's conclusions portray the Auto Team's decision making or with the lessons that SIGTARP has drawn from those facts, but it should be made clear that Treasury has not challenged the essential underlying facts upon which those conclusions are based."

Included among those undisputed facts:


-"[D]ealerships were retained because they were ... minority- or woman-owned dealerships";


-Thousands of jobs were lost, unnecessarily, due specifically to Obama's "mandate for shared sacrifice";

-A disproportionate number of Obama-forced closings were of rural dealerships, in areas unfriendly to Obama, even though such closures could "jeopardize the return to profitability" for GM and Chrysler.

The media, of course, remain mute about these serious allegations in the Barofsky report. They have limited their coverage to the job loss numbers and tried to place the blame on Treasury Secretary Turbo-Tax Tim Geithner.

For now.

Before long, we'll be reading that it was somehow Bush's fault.

Hating Whitey Makes Unexpected Comeback

Here we are only nine months into the ubiquitously proclaimed "post-racial presidency," and all that promised harmony among the races has disappeared faster than a Chicago minute. All it took for addled minds to conjure shadows of racism behind every whitey tree in the whole American forest were voices raised in dissent over the President's far-left policies.

No sooner had congress' summer recess begun -- without the President's hoped-for passage of Obamacare -- than the racist cries began their assent. Nancy Pelosi threw down the "swastika" gauntlet aimed at townhall attendees, which essentially tarred those citizens with white-supremacy slander. In early August an African-American MSNBC newsman actually declared that the word, "socialist," being used to define Obama policies, was a new "code word" for "N**ger."

Then, Joe Wilson's impolite, but factually accurate blurt of "You lie," aimed at the President's claim regarding illegal alien coverage in the healthcare bill, was hailed as racially motivated by liberals at every level. Maureen Dowd penned a wicked screed, swearing she heard Wilson use the word, "Boy," even though no one else did - not even the recording devices. Jimmy Carter doddered forth with his feeble opinion in public, concluding that of course, the outpouring dissent had to be racist. Even Bill Cosby chimed in on the so-called white-racist motivations.

Interestingly enough, before the election, far-left feminist icon, Erica Jong, gave an interview to the Italian press, details of which were reported by the U.K. Telegraph. Jong was taking daily doses of Valium, she said, just to deal with her "pre-election anxiety." If Obama were not elected, she contended, then it would start a "second civil war" and "blood would run in the streets." Jong confided that her writer friends were equally traumatized, that Naomi Wolf was calling her every day, that Ken Follett was "extremely worried" and that Jane Fonda had sent her an email claiming that she "cried all night and can't cure her ailing back for all the stress that has reduced her to a bundle of nerves."

Well, we had the election. White America came through. Now, where's all that absolution, honey?

From anyone's pre-election calculations, an Obama presidency held the promise of relieving America's white citizens of their centuries-long guilt over slavery and civil-rights injustices. Such, however, has not been at all the case and hating whitey is making an unexpected comeback.

There was President Obama's own "teaching moment" on race wherein he reminded us we are still a racist nation where white police officers act "stupidly" against black professor-types just because of the color of their skin. Even the beer-fest afterward left divisive hard feelings and rancor among unjustly accused police officers.

Last week we saw the racist fires stoked against Rush Limbaugh for the "crime" of wishing to purchase part ownership in the St. Louis Rams. Media outlets from coast to coast used false and slanderous quotes to justify the rhetorical lynching of Limbaugh. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, both with more than a few anti-Semitic slurs in their pasts, blasted Limbaugh with false racist charges. An MSNBC contributor remarked that many NFL players had said they wouldn't play for a team owned by Limbaugh because he "would just love to say he owned a plantation full of black men."

But the real cake-taker in this poisonous concoction is the proclamation by Louis Farrakhan in Memphis this week. Farrakhan spoke to a hall full of people who were gathered to celebrate the 14th anniversary of his Million Man March (attended by Barack Obama). This week he warned his Nation of Islam followers not to "become complacent" because of the election of the first black president. Speaking of Obama's election, Farrakhan said "This can pacify you and lull you to sleep in a dangerous time, making you think that we live in a post-racial America-when the opposite is true."

Now, I'm not one generally inclined to agree with the audaciously Hitler-celebrating head of the Nation of Islam, Louis Farrakhan. But on the matter of a post-racial America he would seem to be nailing it. Anyone still believing in the promise of Barack Obama bringing racial peace, harmony and Christian forgiveness to White America might be suffering from a severe case of willful blindness.

When every utterance of disagreement with a president is framed as bigotry and racism, then the old black separatists' call to hate whitey has made a sure comeback and there isn't a thing Christian about it.

In fact, it would seem a very Jeremiah Wright inspired phenomenon. Lest we forget, Jeremiah Wright bestowed the lifetime service award from his church on Louis Farrakhan. Barack Obama seems to have soaked up a whole lot more from Wright and Farrakhan than he let on during the campaign. If the President is not stoking the resurgence of racial hatred, he certainly has done nothing substantial to stop it either.

Perhaps we should have paid a bit more heed to those racist associations of Barack Obama's, because in the infamous words of Spike Lee's Malcolm X, it certainly appears we whitey Americans have been utterly and thoroughly "bamboozled."
