Dear Ms. Pelosi:
I write to you out of utter disdain! You are as despicable and un-American as the traitor Jane Fonda.

I am a soon to be 65 year-old who has voted in every state and local election since 1966. I have voted for both Republicans and Democrats alike. I have worked on campaigns for both Republicans and Democrats, white and black. I served the country that I love in Vietnam, as my son did in the Middle East. I was awarded two bronze stars. I have been involved in politics since age 6 when my father was campaign manager for a truly great American Congressman, Charles Raper Jonas, who worked for his constituents and his country, and was to be admired, unlike you.

You obviously haven't read the Constitution recently, if ever, the Federalist Papers, or even David McCulloughs book on John Adams. You ought to take the time while riding around in your government provided luxury executive jet to do just that. You represent Socialistic and even Marxist principals that our founding fathers tried to avoid when setting out the capitalistic republican form of government represented by our Constitution.

I find it interesting that you and your husband are multi-millionaires with much of your fortune being made as a result of your public service. You have controlled legislation that has enhanced your husbands investments both on and off shore. At the same time you redistributed the wealth of others. Our system of a free market economy is being destroyed by the likes of you, Harry Reid, and now our President. You ride around in a Gulfstream airplane at the tax payers expense while criticizing the presidents of companies who produced something for the economy. You add nothing to the economy of the United States; you only subtract therefrom.

I would like to suggest that you return to the city of fruitcakes and nuts and eat your husbands canned tuna and pineapple produced by illegal immigrants and by workers who have been excluded from the protection that 90% of the legal workers in the United States have.

I await your defeat in the next election with glee.

Don't ever use the term un-American again for protesters who love this country and are exercising their rights upon which this country was founded. By the way, while I served in the Army, I was spit on by the same type of lunatics who support you and who you probably supported in the 60s and 70s. You are an embarrassment to all of us who served so that you would have the protected right of free speech to call us un-American. But at the same time, I have the right to write you to notify you that I consider you to be un-American, as do the majority of the people of this formerly great country. You are a true disgrace to most of the people who served this country by offering themselves for public service in the United States Congress.

I feel certain your aides will not share this letter with you, but I intend to share it with many.

Let's help this man fulfill his "commitment" to Nazi Pelosi. Please show this to everyone in you know!

Imagine you, Stephen L. Goldstein, a socialist, against redistribution of dollars out of the pockets of the middle-class? In addition, you say that giving money to families to use at schools other than public schools is socialism masquerading as free-market education. Do you really believe that?

How can you be in favor of free-market education and then support "competition-free" monopolistic public schools which have been failing to provide a meaningful education to many thousands of our students for decades. Do you want to perpetuate the failings of the status-quo in our public schools?

If the public schools were doing their job, we wouldn't need "voucher schools", but when people, like you Stephen, use cliches to rail against remedies to what we are doing now, it shows that political considerations take precedence over common sense.

If we can get school vouchers ( a/k/a Opportunity Scholarships) passed over the objections of the teachers unions, far-left pundits, and liberal politicians, you'll see a dramatic increase in public school achievement because they'll have to compete for the students and dollars earmarked for education. Competition, like in the business world, will motivate the public schools to make the learning climate more conducive to learning by attracting the students and the dollars that are going to the public schools now.

So instead of championing free-enterprise education (your words), which you really don't believe in from your socialist background, why don't you give your support to the new governor (Rick Scott) in helping him to try to give the students the opportunity at getting a meaningful education by giving them a choice - isn't that what all leftists believe in? Or is that phrase only used when you talk about abortion?

In the words of economist/author, Dr. Thomas Sowell, "If you want to see the poor (students) remain poor (uneducated), generation after generation, just keep the standards low in their schools and make excuses for their academic shortcomings and personal misbehavior". By not reforming the system, that is what you will reap, year after year, to the detriment of the students, in particular, and to the country, as a whole.

Most Onerous Tax, the Death Tax

According to President Obama, all the economists he read or heard from , in the past few weeks, said that extending the recent tax rates would create jobs - if that's the case, why not extend those rates permanently? If it's good now, why would it not be good two years from now? The "evil" Republicans have been saying that for years, but have been demagogued for supposedly placating their "rich" friends.

The most onerous tax a government could assess is the Death Tax (a/k/a Estate Tax). The property that a deceased person leaves to his heirs has already been taxed, so is it fair to tax it again? That's double taxation! Is it fair to tax it again just because a person dies?

Many heirs (mostly family members) will have to pay taxes on the value of the property that was bequeathed. In many cases, the real property or business is valued at an amount so high that the recipient will be unable to come up with the cash to pay the tax. Real estate and businesses are not a liquid asset so the donee might have to sell off the asset, whether they want to or not, just to pay the "Death Tax".
Since most liberals use the term "fair" as their holy grail, is that fair to the heir or the family? Just because this tax won't affect a large amount of people, doesn't make it right to discriminate against anyone, regardless of their wealth or status in life.

As former Chief Justice John Marshall once opined, "The power to tax is the power to destroy". And so it is with the Democrats and, unfortunately, our government.

With all due respect Rachel Patron, where did you get your economic education, at the Norman Thomas Institute? ( Norman Thomas was a well known Socialist of 60 years ago).

You bad mouth the former Soviet Union, and rightly so, but your economic philosophy is right out of the Karl Marx playbook. All you think about is how government can do this or do that for people when it is universally known that the most inefficient organization created is the government itself. Are you aware Rachel, that the top 1% of earners (making over $380,000) pay 40% of all income taxes? That the top 5% (making over $160,000) pay 60% of all income taxes? That the bottom 50% of earners pay just 3% of all income taxes and still you want to "sock it to" the "rich" who, by the way, are the primary job producers? Why do you and the Democrats always try to demonize the successful people (using class warfare) by over taxing them and by calling them greedy and insensitive? Don't you think everyone should pay into the revenue pot that the government collects? Do you realize that approx. 47% of all earners don't pay any income tax? Is that fair? Were you ever employed by a poor person? That means that America is now about evenly split between those who pay income taxes and those who consume them. That's why the Democrats demonize the "rich" because they are trying to appeal to the larger voting bloc, the 47% who don't pay income taxes, by offering them entitlements - getting something for nothing. It's like robbing Peter to pay Paul so that Paul will vote for them.

Go back to school Rachel, and get yourself some basic economic education, with a non-liberal economics instructor, with emphasis on our capitalist, free enterprise system, not the Marxist/Socialist crap you are spouting now.

This is for all the kids born in the 70's and after who do not remember, and didn't have to bear the burden that our fathers, mothers and older brothers and sisters had to bear..

Jane Fonda is being honored as one of the "100 Women of the Century."

Unfortunately, many have forgotten and still countless others have never known how Ms. Fonda betrayed not only the idea of our country, but specific men who served and sacrificed during Vietnam

The first part of this is from an F-4E pilot. The pilot's name is Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat.

In 1968, the former Commandant of the USAF Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo Prison the Hanoi Hilton.

Dragged from a stinking cesspit of a cell, cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJ's, he was ordered to describe for a visiting American 'Peace Activist' the 'lenient and humane treatment' he'd received.

He spat at Ms. Fonda, was clubbed, and was dragged away. During the subsequent beating, he fell forward on to the camp Commandant's feet, which sent that officer berserk.

In 1978, the Air Force Colonel still suffered from double vision (which permanently ended his flying career) from the Commandant's frenzied application of a wooden baton.

From 1963-65, Col. Larry Carrigan was in the 47FW/DO (F-4E's). He spent 6 years in the 'Hanoi Hilton', the first three of which his family only knew he was 'missing in action'. His wife lived on faith that he was still alive. His group, too, got the cleaned-up, fed and clothed routine in preparation for a 'peace delegation' visit.

They, however, had time and devised a plan to get word to the world that they were alive and still survived. Each man secreted a tiny piece of paper, with his Social Security Number on it, in the palm of his hand.

When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a cameraman, she walked the line, shaking each man's hand and asking little encouraging snippets like: 'Aren't you sorry you bombed babies?' and 'Are you grateful for the humane treatment from your benevolent captors?' Believing this HAD to be an act, they each palmed her their sliver of paper.

She took them all without missing a beat. At the end of the line and once the camera stopped rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs, she turned to the officer in charge and handed him all the little pieces of paper.

Three men died from the subsequent beatings. Colonel Carrigan was almost number four but he survived, which is the only reason we know of her actions that day.

I was a civilian economic development advisor in Vietnam , and was captured by the North Vietnamese communists in South Vietnam in 1968, and held prisoner for over 5 years.

I spent 27 months in solitary confinement; one year in a cage in Cambodia ; and one year in a 'black box' in Hanoi My North Vietnamese captors deliberately poisoned and murdered a female missionary, a nurse in a leprosarium in Ban me Thuot , South Vietnam , whom I buried in the jungle near the Cambodian border. At one time, I weighed only about 90 lbs. (My normal weight is 170 lbs)

We were Jane Fonda's 'war criminals....'

When Jane Fonda was in Hanoi, I was asked by the camp communist political officer if I would be willing to meet with her.

I said yes, for I wanted to tell her about the real treatment we POWs received... and how different it was from the treatment purported by the North Vietnamese, and parroted by her as "humane and lenient."

Because of this, I spent three days on a rocky floor on my knees, with my arms outstretched with a large steel weights placed on my hands, and beaten with a bamboo cane.

I had the opportunity to meet with Jane Fonda soon after I was released. I asked her if she would be willing to debate me on TV. She never did answer me.

These first-hand experiences do not exemplify someone who should be honored as part of '100 Years of Great Women.' Lest we forget....' 100 Years of Great Women' should never include a traitor whose hands are covered with the blood of so many patriots.

There are few things I have strong visceral reactions to, but Hanoi Jane's participation in blatant treason, is one of them. Please take the time to forward to as many people as you possibly can.. It will eventually end up on her computer and
she needs to know that we will never forget.

Through the centuries, the Christian church and its denominations struggled through reformations, transforming them into institutions serving their congregations in humanitarian ways, improve their spiritual and social condition.

Why Michelle Never Goes to any Arab country

"If you check President Obama's last trip over-seas, his wife left Just after their visit to France. She has yet to accompany him to any Arab country. Think about it. Why is Michelle returning to the states when 'official' trips to foreign countries generally include the First Lady."

Here's one thought on the matter.

While in a Blockbuster renting videos I came across a video called "Obama". There were two men standing next to me and we talked about President Obama. These guys were Arabs, so I asked them why they thought Michele Obama Headed home following the President's recent visit to France instead of traveling On to Saudi Arabia and Turkey with her husband. They told me she could not go to Saudi Arabia, Turkey or Iraq. I said "Why not,(?) -- Laura Bush went to Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Dubai." They said that Obama is a Muslim and therefore he is not allowed to bring his wife into countries that adhere to Sharia Law.

Two points of interest here:

1) I thought it interesting that two American Arabs at Blockbuster believe that our President is a Muslim, 2) who follows a strict Islamic creed.

They also said that's the reason he bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia. It was a signal to the Muslim world, acknowledging his religion.

For further consideration, here is a response from Dr. Jim Murk, a Middle Eastern Scholar and expert on Islam. This is his explanation of what the Arab American's were saying.

"An orthodox Muslim man would never take his wife on a politically oriented trip to any nation which practices Sharia law, particularly Saudi Arabia where the Wahhabi sect is dominant. This is true and it is why Obama left Michelle in Europe. She will stay home when he visits Arab countries. He knows Muslim protocol; this includes, bowing to the Saudi King. Obama is regarded as a Muslim in the Arab world, because he was born to a Muslim father; he acknowledged his Muslim faith with George Stephanopoulus. Note that he downplays his involvement with Christianity, by not publicly joining a Christian church in D.C. And occasionally attending the chapel for services at Camp David. He also played down the fact that America is a Christian country and said, unbelievably, that it was one of the largest Muslim nations in the world, which is nonsense. He has publicly taken the side of the Palestinians in the conflict with Israel and he ignored the National Day of Prayer, something no other President has ever done.

Why has Barack Hussein Obama insisted that the U.S. Attorney General hold the trials of the 911 Muslim Terrorists in Civilian Courts as Common Criminals instead of as Terrorists who attacked the United States of America?

If the Muslim Terrorists are tried in Military Tribunals, convicted and sentenced to death, by LAW, Barack Hussein Obama, as President of the United States, would be required to sign their Death Warrants. He would not be required to sign the death warrants if they are sentenced to death by a Civilian Court. Last year, Muslim Jihadist, Army Major Hassan slaughtered non-Muslim soldiers at Ft. Hood, Texas rather than go to Afghanistan and be a part of anything that could lead to the deaths of fellow Muslims. He stated that Muslims "could not and should not kill fellow Muslims."

Is the motive for Barack Hussein Obama's insistence on civilian trials, to make sure he doesn't have to sign the death warrants for the Muslim Terrorists? Why would he, as President of the United States , not sign the death warrants for Muslim Terrorists who attacked the United States and murdered over 3,000 U. S. Citizens on 9/11? Could it be that he is FORBIDDEN by his RELIGION to authorize the execution of Muslims?

Think about that! Open your eyes, ears and mind to WHO the President is, HOW he behaves and WHAT he is doing.

From henceforth I will provide a weekly assessment of our campaign to unseat the inept Florida Congressman, Ron Klein. This last week we secured the GOP nomination by defeating a liberal Trojan Horse, whom the Palm Beach Post endorsed, with 77% of the vote.

Not even before the primary race had ended, Klein launched his first TV commercial, a negative attack piece, a sure sign of desperation. It is evident that the tone for Klein's strategy has been set, "my voting record is abysmal so I will attack LTC(R) Allen B West." What his insidious advertisement shows the viewer is that Klein has no regard for working American families - certainly not any member of the Serf class who would dare challenge little Lord Ron.

Furthermore, it reveals how much respect this cretin has for our Military Veterans and their families who serve in order to provide the freedoms under which he lives. I will take pure pleasure in defeating Klein, as it will provide a Victory for the common American, as well as our Servicemen and women.

As well, this week the snippy little liberal chihuahuas came out to bark at my ankles - that means you Keith Olbermann and David Weigel - of "journolist" fame. These two little boys decided to chime in, Olbermann naming me "Worst Person in the World" for a third time, while Weigel had the delusional gall to declare me, well, crazy.


Message to all liberals, name calling and petulant simpleton gimmicks dare not distract me from my mission; destroying the liberal progressive socialist machine and its legislative agenda......Klein is just a stepping stone to that end.

You will find that this Conservative will parry your weak punches and deliver knockout blows. If it is a fight for America you seek, you came to the right place.....and shall find yourselves fleeing in utter desperation, same as the pathetic liberal Congressman against whom I run. I invite all of you into the arena where this intellectual Warrior awaits you on the field of combat for principles of governance and ideals.

Where The Big Bucks Are

Running and getting elected to public office, it's not unusual to sell half your soul to the political machine and the other half to special interest groups that are the goose that lays the golden egg, to out spend the opposition. Seldom does somebody emerge with enough backbone to serve the public and not the manipulators behind the scene.

It's been a losing battle reminding those we put into office that they are working for us, not we working for them.

Not that long ago, a usual smug female Senator from a far western state, denigrated a high ranking military officer for addressing her as ma am. She was indignant and chastised him because he didn't address her as Senator; after all, she worked so hard to become one. The arrogance of an Elitist at its peak! Hopefully her constituency will feed her humble pie in November.

The T.E.A.'s movement mirrors my anger, frustration and view toward the privileged leeches in office. We have to replace them with dedicated individuals who have the tenacity to serve without self benefit. They don't have to be Mother Teresa; just honest and forthright with the tax payers money. Is this an impossible dream?

Scratching the surface searching for this illusive dream, William Jefferson,
Charles Rangel, John Conyer's spouse and Maxine Waters do not come to mind. Would the Clintons have been able to shell out a million or better bucks for Chelsea's wedding before he became president?

Jesse Jackson has come out against Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert for remarks he made after LeBron James's decision last week to leave the Cavs to play for the Miami Heat.

ESPN reports:

Jesse Jackson criticized Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert on Sunday, saying Gilbert sees LeBron James as a "runaway slave" and that the owner's comments after the free-agent forward decided to join the Miami Heat put the player in danger.

Shortly after James announced his decision last week, Gilbert fired off an incendiary letter to Cleveland's fans, ripping the 25-year-old and promising to deliver a title before James wins one. He called James' decision "cowardly" and later told The Associated Press he believes James quit during a handful of Cavaliers playoff games.

"He has gotten a free pass," Gilbert told the AP in a phone interview late Thursday night. "People have covered up for [James] for way too long. Tonight we saw who he really is."

Jackson said Gilbert's comments were "mean, arrogant and presumptuous."

"He speaks as an owner of LeBron and not the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers," the reverend said in a release from his Chicago-based civil rights group, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition. "His feelings of betrayal personify a slave master mentality. He sees LeBron as a runaway slave. This is an owner employee relationship -- between business partners -- and LeBron honored his contract."


It's funny that Jackson feels compelled to provide his perspective on this situation involving a famous Black American athlete - and use an inflammatory term like "runaway slave" in the process - but doesn't feel it's necessary to criticize liberal politicians who intentionally avoid dealing with issues that disproportionately affect everyday Black Americans, such as unemployment, abortion, and education.

Jackson believes Gilbert had framed in his mind he was LeBron's "owner", but, if he wants to talk about people being owned, there are millions of Americans whose lives are supported solely by government assistance.

That's not an issue Jackson wants to tackle, he's more concerned with how a multi-millionaire Black athlete is being "treated" by the owner of his former team. If there's anything "good" that could be said about these despicable race baiters it's that they are consistent, unfortunately, they are consistently out of touch and useless.

Obama is a victim of Bush's failed promises?

Barack Obama is setting a record-setting number of records during his first year in office.

Largest budget ever. Largest deficit ever. Largest number of broken promises ever. Most self-serving speeches ever. Largest number of agenda-setting failures ever. Fastest dive in popularity ever.

Wow. Talk about change.

Just one year ago, fresh from his inauguration celebrations, President Obama was flying high. After one of the nation’s most inspiring political campaigns, the election of America’s first black president had captured the hopes and dreams of millions. To his devout followers, it was inconceivable that a year later his administration would be gripped in self-imposed crisis.

Of course, they don’t see it as self imposed. It’s all George Bush’s fault.

George Bush, who doesn’t have a vote in Congress and who no longer occupies the White House, is to blame for it all.

He broke Obama’s promise to put all bills on the White House web site for five days before signing them.

He broke Obama’s promise to have the congressional health care negotiations broadcast live on C-SPAN.

He broke Obama’s promise to end earmarks.

He broke Obama’s promise to keep unemployment from rising above 8 percent.

He broke Obama’s promise to close the detention center at Guantanamo in the first year.

He broke Obama’s promise to make peace with direct, no pre-condition talks with America’s most hate-filled enemies during his first year in office, ushering in a new era of global cooperation.

He broke Obama’s promise to end the hiring of former lobbyists into high White House jobs.

He broke Obama’s promise to end no-compete contracts with the government.

He broke Obama’s promise to disclose the names of all attendees at closed White House meetings.

He broke Obama’s promise for a new era of bipartisan cooperation in all matters.

He broke Obama’s promise to have chosen a home church to attend Sunday services with his family by Easter of last year.

Yes, it’s all George Bush’s fault. President Obama is nothing more than a puppet in the never-ending, failed Bush administration.

If only George Bush wasn’t still in charge, all of President Obama’s problems would be solved. His promises would have been kept, the economy would be back on track, Iran would have stopped its work on developing a nuclear bomb and would be negotiating a peace treaty with Israel, North Korea would have ended its tyrannical regime, and integrity would have been restored to the federal government.

Oh, and did I mention what it would be like if the Democrats, under the leadership of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, didn’t have the heavy yoke of George Bush around their necks. There would be no earmarks, no closed-door drafting of bills, no increase in deficit spending, no special-interest influence (unions), no vote buying (Nebraska, Louisiana).

If only George Bush wasn’t still in charge, we’d have real change by now.

All the broken promises, all the failed legislation and delay (health care reform, immigration reform) is not President Obama’s fault or the fault of the Democrat-controlled Congress. It’s all George Bush’s fault.

Take for example the decision of Eric Holder, the president’s attorney general, to hold terrorists’ trials in New York City. Or his decision to try the Christmas Day underpants bomber as a civilian.

Two disastrous decisions.

Certainly those were bad judgments based on poor advice from George Bush.

Need more proof?

You might recall that when Scott Brown won last month’s election to the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts, capturing “the Ted Kennedy seat,” President Obama said that Brown’s victory was the result of the same voter anger that propelled Obama into office in 2008. People were still angry about George Bush and the policies of the past 10 years, and they wanted change.

Yes, according to the president, the voter rebellion in Massachusetts last month was George Bush’s fault.

Therefore, in retaliation, they elected a Republican to the Ted Kennedy seat, ending a half-century of domination by Democrats.

It is all George Bush’s fault.

Will the failed administration of George Bush ever end, and the time for hope and change ever arrive?

Will President Obama ever accept responsibility for something — anything?

Wonder why California is Broke?

Just one of the differences between Texas and California . . .

Situation: Governor of state is jogging, with his dog along a trail. Coyote jumps out and starts to attack dog.

California:

1. Governor starts to intervene and then realizes he should stop; the coyote is doing what is natural.

2. Call animal control. Animal control captures coyote and spends $200 testing it for diseases and $500 relocating it.

3. Call a Vet. Veterinarian collects dead dog and spends $200 testing it for diseases.

4. Governor goes to hospital and spends $3500 getting checked for diseases from the coyote and getting bite wound bandaged.

5. Running trail gets shut down for 6 months while wildlife services conduct a $100,000 survey to make sure the area is clear of dangerous animals.

6. Governor spends $50,000 and starts a coyote awareness program for people who live in the area.

7. State legislature spends $2 million investigating how to better handle rabies and how to possibly eradicate it.

8. Governor's security agent fired for not stopping the attack and letting the Governor try to intervene.

9. Cost $75,000 to train new security agent.

10. PETA protest the relocation of the coyote.


Texas:

1. Governor spends $1.23 on a .45 ACP Gold Dot Hollow Point and, he and the dog keep jogging.

Immigration Reform

Although I am not a fan of Michael Savage, this exchange on his radio show is priceless.

The radio caller is from Boca Raton, FL, the liberal capital of Florida.

Reminds me of when I lived in the Boca area and would get into some of the political discussions while at the gym in the a.m. Some individuals would make the most outrageous statements without any proof or facts.

But, I "learned" a lot of things from this caller.
1. If we tax all of the "rich people" we can support all of the illegal immigrants who cross the border.
2. Obama is the one who pays out welfare benefits. I guess our taxes go to the big sinkhole in the sky.
3. If we open our borders up to all, everything will be just great. (I guess this wonder doesn't remember what happened when we did this to Cuba and Castro gladly sent us all of his criminals and assorted scum.)
4. All of the money that U.S. collects in taxes comes from illegal aliens.

Maybe the local newspaper, the Sun-Sentinel, could get the caller to do a guest column!

Remember the guy who got on a plane with a bomb built into his shoe and tried to light it?
Did you know his trial is over?
Did you know he was sentenced?
Did you see/hear any of the judge's comments on TV or Radio?
Didn't think so!
Everyone should hear what the judge had to say.

Ruling by Judge William Young, US District Court.

Prior to sentencing, the Judge asked the defendant if he had anything to say. His response: After admitting his guilt to the court for the record, Reid also admitted his 'allegiance to Osama bin Laden, to Islam, and to the religion of Allah,' defiantly stating, 'I think I will not apologize for my actions,' and told the court 'I am at war with your country.'

Judge Young then delivered the statement quoted below:

United States vs. Reid.

Judge Young: 'Mr. Richard C. Reid, hearken now to the sentence the Court imposes upon you.

On counts 1, 5 and 6 the Court sentences you to life in prison in the custody of the United States Attorney General. On counts 2, 3, 4and 7, the Court sentences you to 20 years in prison on each count, the sentence on each count to run consecutively. (That's 80 years.)

On count 8 the Court sentences you to the mandatory 30 years again, to be served consecutively to the 80 years just imposed. The Court imposes upon you for each of the eight counts a fine of $250,000 that's an aggregate fine of $2 million. The Court accepts the government's recommendation with respect to restitution and orders restitution in the amount of $298.17 to Andre Bousquet and $5,784 to American Airlines.

The Court imposes upon you an $800 special assessment. The Court imposes upon you five years supervised release simply because the law requires it. But the life sentences are real life sentences so I need go no further.

This is the sentence that is provided for by our statutes. It is a fair and just sentence. It is a righteous sentence.

Now, let me explain this to you. We are not afraid of you or any of your terrorist co-conspirators, Mr. Reid. We are Americans. We have been through the fire before. There is too much war talk here and I say that to everyone with the utmost respect. Here in this court, we deal with individuals as individuals and care for individuals as individuals. As human beings, we reach out for justice.

You are not an enemy combatant. You are a Terrorist. You are not a soldier in any war. You are a terrorist. To give you that reference, to call you a soldier, gives you far too much stature. Whether the officers of government do it or your attorney does it, or if you think you are a soldier, you are not----- you are a terrorist. And we do not negotiate with terrorists. We do not meet with terrorists. We do not sign documents with terrorists. We hunt them down one by one and bring them to justice.

So war talk is way out of line in this court. You are a big fellow. But you are not that big. You're no warrior. I've known warriors. You are a terrorist. A species of criminal that is guilty of multiple attempted murders. In a very real sense, State Trooper Santiago had it right when you first were taken off that plane and into custody and you wondered where the press and the TV crews were, and he said: 'You're no big deal.'

You are no big deal.

What your able counsel and what the equally able United States attorneys have grappled with and what I have as honestly as I know how tried to grapple with, is why you did something so horrific. What was it that led you here to this courtroom today?

I have listened respectfully to what you have to say. And I ask you to search your heart and ask yourself what sort of unfathomable hate led you to do what you are guilty and admit you are guilty of doing? And, I have an answer for you. It may not satisfy you, but as I search this entire record, it comes as close to understanding as I know.

It seems to me you hate the one thing that to us is most precious. You hate our freedom. Our individual freedom. Our individual freedom to live as we choose, to come and go as we choose, to believe or not believe as we individually choose. Here, in this society, the very wind carries freedom. It carries it everywhere from sea to shining sea. It is because we prize individual freedom so much that you are here in this beautiful courtroom, so that everyone can see, truly see, that justice is administered fairly, individually, and discretely. It is for freedom's sake that your lawyers are striving so vigorously on your behalf, have filed appeals, will go on in their representation of you before other judges.

We Americans are all about freedom. Because we all know that the way we treat you, Mr. Reid, is the measure of our own liberties. Make no mistake though. It is yet true that we will bear any burden; pay any price, to preserve our freedoms. Look around this courtroom. Mark it well. The world is not going to long remember what you or I say here. The day after tomorrow, it will be forgotten, but this, however, will long endure.

Here in this courtroom and courtrooms all across America, the American people will gather to see that justice, individual justice, justice, not war, individual justice is in fact being done. The very President of the United States through his officers will have to come into courtrooms and lay out evidence on which specific matters can be judged and juries of citizens will gather to sit and judge that evidence democratically, to mold and shape and refine our sense of justice.

See that flag, Mr. Reid? That's the flag of the United States of America. That flag will fly there long after this is all forgotten. That flag stands for freedom. And it always will.

Mr. Custody Officer. Stand him down.

So, how much of this Judge's comments did we hear on our TV sets? We need more judges like Judge Young. Pass this around. Everyone should and needs to hear what this fine judge had to say. Powerful words that strike home.

Now that is the way to talk to Terrorists! We don't need to "Hug it out" with them as Barry, Low-life Janeane Garofalo or Anti-American Rosie think we should.
